The Truth That Makes You Free
Beloved,
Satan wrecks havoc on humanity with Adam’s authority that he got by deception and corrupted. This is the same authority he boasted about to Jesus during His temptation when he asked Jesus to bow before him:
Luke 4:5-6 NKJV
“Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.”
This same Adam’s authority was recognised by Angel Michael so that he could not directly rebuke Satan:
Jude 1:9 NKJV
“Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!””
Adam’s authority was higher than that of all angelic beings because he was made just a little lower than Elohim (God) in rank:
Psalms 8:5 TPT
“Yet what honour you have given to men, created only a little lower than Elohim, crowned like kings and queens with glory and magnificence.”
Satan has wrecked havoc all over the world with this corrupted power and authority until the New Creation emerged. Now if Satan could do a lot of evil with the authority he got by deception, how much more good could the New Creation do with the authority of Christ!
The authority of Christ is recognised in heaven, in earth and in hell:
Philippians 2:9-11 NKJV
“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
The authority of Christ is absolute:
Matthew 28:18-19 NKJV
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”
The authority of Christ supersedes all demonic authority:
Luke 10:17-19 NKJV
“Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
The authority of Christ belongs to the body of Christ (you):
Ephesians 1:20-23 NKJV
“which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”
You have the right to use the authority of Christ:
Mark 16:17 NKJV
“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;”
Do not fear the devil or any demons because you have the authority of Christ that they recognise and fear.
Acts 19:15 NKJV
“And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?””
